Why Delivery Time Matters More Than Ever

Google surfaces estimated delivery dates directly in Shopping ads and free listings. Merchants with accurate delivery time data show "Get it by [date]" in their ads — this increases click-through rate significantly. Merchants without delivery data show nothing, or show a generic range.

GMC Delivery Time Configuration

Set delivery time in your GMC shipping service settings:

Min handling time — The minimum number of business days between when an order is placed and when it ships.

Max handling time — The maximum handling time before shipment.

Min transit time — The minimum business days in transit after shipment.

Max transit time — The maximum transit time.

Example: You ship same-day for orders placed before 2pm, and standard shipping takes 3–5 business days. Set handling: min 0, max 1. Transit: min 3, max 5.

Feed-Level Delivery Time

You can also specify delivery time in your product feed using the transit_time_label attribute, which links to a shipping service configured in GMC.

Accuracy Requirements

The delivery time shown in Shopping must match what customers actually receive. If you advertise 2-day shipping but regularly deliver in 5 days, Google will receive signals from customer reviews and returns data that your delivery time is inaccurate.

Cutoff Time Configuration

For next-day and 2-day delivery claims, configure a cutoff time in your shipping service. Orders placed before the cutoff ship the same day. This ensures the "Get it by" date shown in Shopping is accurate.
